As we are preparing for the upcoming winter season, IVSS is thrilled to continue our Online Seminar Series to all interested National Ski Associations & Organizations, ski schools & ski instructors, educators, and ski enthusiasts.
In our effort to combine scientific and practical knowledge to promote lifelong engagement in Snowsports at all levels and in all aspects of our organizations, we will continue our series of online seminars to virtually present highly relevant topics for educators and athletes and facilitate important discussion thereof.
Our action-focused online seminars, host specialists of various organizations and countries to present best practices in their field of studies. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and connect with like-minded individuals working to promote the joy of skiing. Additional information on each session can be found in the respective registration information.
Following on from the previous seminar by Mike McClure (ENOS) and Andreas Thomann (TUM) about the social benefits of being outdoors, Åsa Tugetam, IVSS Board Member and Senior Lecturer at Linnaeus University Kalmar, will report research on snowsports and the learning of University students in Sweden. The emphasis will be on the transferable skills of students to everyday life back in their home communities. Three learning processes will be explained (contextual, relational and identity developing) and examples given to help develop a richer understanding and practice for teaching students through snowsports.
We hope to see you online!
